I am planning on launching into a brand spanking new creative journaling project this month – excitement!
I will be doing Andrea Schroeder’s free 30 day journaling e-course Creative Emergence and I will be sharing my discoveries here on soulARTZ. It looks really exciting and anyone can sign-up – what are you waiting for?
I have been really busy over the last week or so, moving into my new home and setting up a space where I can be creative. I have discovered that not having a permanent space for creative journaling (and art in general) has been such a deterrent to maintaining a regular practice – unpacking, packing up, unpacking, and packing up over and over again can be a real bummer!
So I have really enjoyed taking a little time to revamp my art supplies a little (a lot of arty and crafty shopping has gone down over the last month or so!) and I have also had a lot of fun choosing and setting up a desk where I can spread out and just get messy! I am going to LOVE being able to leave my art supplies out and not packing them up each time I want to dig into a bit of paint.
Before we get our hands dirty, we need to gather our tools. These are the tools that we need on hand in order to 1) get creative and 2) deal with the anxieties and fears that often stop us from BEGINNING!
I thought it would be easier for me to actually show you the very BASIC tools that I love and always have available to me for my creative journaling practice, and I have made a a video to share this information with you!

I also got a little creative taking some photos of my basic supplies with my Canon EOS 70D which I LOVE!
Later on this week, I will discuss what I have learned about creative journaling over the last year or so and I will explain how I have been using the two journals in the image above – my Moleskine for written journaling and my Midori Traveler Notebook for my Creative Dream Visioning – plus, I will share some tips and trick for getting started and breaking through creative barriers. It is all happening!
