Check out this week’s journal prompt from my current project Sacred Soul Journaling
“At the centre of your being you have the answer: you know who you are and you know what you want.” – Lao Tzu
There is something powerful about putting pen to paper. Simple, but powerful.
I don’t know what it is. Sometimes I feel like my Soul is speaking through my pen like I am channeling a wise voice from the Universe that is there to guide me down the right path. It isn’t always like that though. Of late, my journaling as been stilted and tense. It always is in the hot Summer months when I’d rather be outside soaking up the rays rather than searching my inner workings inside my journal. Thus is life – we too and fro, go back and forth. But no matter what is happening in my outer world, I know that my journal is always there to listen; a best-friend that never talks back, only accepts and listens and on occasion lifts her hand to point me in the right direction.
Taking up journaling has been the single most powerful decision I have made in regards to facilitating my own healing. I have learned many lessons since I started journaling back in 2014, but the most important one is this: we already hold the solutions to our greatest problems.
In the past, whenever I had a problem, I would nose-dive into panic mode; What would I do?; What decision would I make?; What if I made the wrong choice? Now, I turn to my journal. I write it out; screeds and screeds of jumbled and fumbled letters and words that often make no sense yet they hold the volume of pain and worry that I feel. Pouring this all onto the page instantly releases a certain tension from my body. I feel more relaxed, calmer, and more focused. Over time, I play with my words on the page: I revise and edit and reread; I shift them around until a clearer picture is formed. It’s not that my journal is telling me what to do about my problem, but I am showing myself a way to the clearing, through the fog.
So too, can you.
This week’s prompt…
Healing is occurring. You’re a natural healer. You’re on the mend, and/or a situation is being resolved. Have faith that it is happening.
Your Soul wants you to know
Healing is natural. Everything in nature has the intrinsic ability to restore itself. You’re a part of the world, so you also have this inane ability. Often healing needs to occur on the inner planes before it can manifest itself on the outside. To assist this process, focus on what’s great and let go of what isn’t working or what’s wrong. Hold a vision of the solution that you desire, be patient, and trust that recovery is occurring in it’s own time and way. Nature is one of our greatest healers, so spend time with the trees, soak up the rays of the sun, and dance in the rain.
“Phenomenal healing energy flows through every cell in my body!”
(from the Soul Coaching Oracle Cards Guidebook – Denise Linn)
Unpacking the prompt:
These questions can be responded to and interpreted in any form – written and/or visual – and are there to help you think about the prompt on a deeper level. You could choose to respond to one question per day throughout the week, or you could simply choose those that speak to you.
1. What situations in your life need to be healed OR are in the process of healing?
2. Describe what your inner/outer worlds would feel/look like? What would be different?
3. What is GREAT in your life? Why?
4. What in your life doesn’t serve you and therefore must be let go? Why?
5. What is your VISION for your future? Where do you see yourself in 5/10/15 years time?
6. Where in nature do you feel most comfortable and at ease with life? Describe it.
